L.L.Weans - In Store Programs, Events and Worskshops

Programs

Workshop Board Programs & Workshop Rentals are offered October through May and require advance registration with deposits at least 3 months prior to desired dates. Using your Frequent Buyer Card can save 10% on some Programs. Schedule changes and cancellations may occur due to low attendance or bad weather, therefore a 24 hour notice is required from L.L.Weans and Customers. Unfortunately due to rising insurance costs, program fees have increased and some are no longer free. Our programs include Group Workshops, Scout Workshops, Pre-School Teachers Workshops, Tutoring, and Group Storytimes.

Group Workshops

For a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 24; Teachers, Parents, PTA, Children, Scouts, College Students and others. Try NEW educational products while working on various topics, projects, themes, curriculum, organizational ideas, children's arts & crafts, acting, puppetry, scout badges & pins, and more. Offered in-store on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for 2 hours (4:30-6:30pm). Led by experienced Workshop Instructors or Classroom Teachers. The fee (deposit) of $90.00 to be paid in advance covers the first 6 people (minimum) and $10.00 for each additional person is to be paid on the workshop day.

Scout Workshops

A variation of Group Workshops where scouts rotate between stations while having fun working on badges and pins. A few Moms & Dads may be invited to help and earn Free Weans Bucks; Official Girl Scout Rewards are available at a low cost. For prices please see the Group Workshop information above.

Pre-School Teachers Workshops

These workshops are appropriate for Teachers & Facilitators of Pre-School, Nursery School and Day Care programs. Earn EASY Training Credit while enjoying 2 hours of Make & Take projects, review informative NYS required topics, plan ahead Monthly themes, try-out new educational products hear guest speakers, receive FREE samples, Weans Coupons and get 15% Discounts that day on Purchases & Orders!

Offered on pre-scheduled Saturdays (see dates below) at our Airport Plaza Store Workshop. Advanced Registration with deposit is required for either the 11:00 am -1:00 pm or 3:00-5:00 pm times. The deposit (fee) is only $15 for each workshop, or pay for all 8 workshops at one time for only $90 which gives you TWO FREE. Register early, this is a popular program and seats are limited!

Interactive Storytimes

For 6 or more Children with their Teachers or Parents; encourages good listening skills and FUN participation with storybooks, puppets and gifts. You can choose to bring in your favorite books, or hear a few from L.L. Weans's book collection

To reward good behavior Children receive fun reminders of the stories they enjoyed and Adult helpers receive thank you gifts as well.

This program is offered from October through May in our store's workshop room on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 am and lasts for one hour. Advance registration of $15 is required at least one month prior to the desired date and must be confirmed with the Weans Planner. Successful with Pre-Schools, Day Cares, Early and Special Education Classes, Home Schoolers and Parent & Child Social Groups.

Instore Activities

Language Seeds

Parents are excited about Language Seeds classes because learning a language is a skill that is built up the best at a very young age. Studies have shown again and again that children retain language best as infants. This class will expose children and parents to Mandarin Chinese in a fun and interactive environment. Learning language is a process similar to exercising a muscle and the more young children gain exposure, the better they will comprehend other languages in the future. Jianping Schoolman has over 15 years of University level experience teaching Chinese language. She has a passion for teaching young children and making language accessible to everyone. Her three years old daughter is completely bilingual.

Lessons are taught through activities, songs, and games that make it equally fun for child and parent. Classes are beginning Monday October 15 and will be every Monday for eight weeks excluding Veteran's Day on November 12. The classes are from10:15a.m. to 11:00 a.m.. Classic Coach Trips

L.L.Weans is proud to announce that we are now the pick-up location for Farmingdale for the Classic Coach bus trips to Six Flags Great Adventure. Mention our store when you book your tickets to receive a special discount promotional offer. This service is not run through L.L.Weans but please come in and visit us.

In consideration for the other tenants in our shopping center, please park past the "Sunrise Credit" and NOT near stores and businesses.

Tutoring

We provide a FREE matching service to help our Customers find Tutors for their Elementary or Special Needs Students. They can begin with their first session in our workshop room and receive a FREE product discount coupon. Our Tutors are Friendly, Creative and Experienced Classroom Teachers and College Education Majors.

Above are various ways L.L.Weans can help encourage FUN with Education for your Children & Students!! You merely provide the place, promotions & participants, while we do the work. Fund-Raising for your Groups, PTA's and Schools, is easy when selling L.L.Weans educational products and providing interactive activities & projects to do at your location. Our various presentations are appropriate for staff training in schools, businesses and parenting groups, and are so well received that we often return each year. When it is possible to sell our products, the cost of theses services are usually waived making it a FREE event. Experienced and knowledgable Weans Staff or Classroom Teachers facilitate and lead these events in order to provide efficient quality service that our customers can rely on.
